Sony has teased the launch of its new product via its Facebook page and official YouTube channel. The Xperia 5 II will be the successor to the Xperia 5 the company launched last year. The Sony Xperia 5 II hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we’d be very surprised if we didn’t see it later in the year, given Sony’s general pattern of smartphone releases.
Sony Mobile recently updated its Facebook page and YouTube channel to tease a new Xperia product launch scheduled for September 17, 2020, at 9:00 am CEST (12:30 pm IST) that will be live-streamed on the two channels. Specifically, 9 am CEST (midnight PT or 3 am ET) on September 17, which is less than three weeks away.

We expect Sony to include Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC on the Xperia 5 II, coupled with an FHD+ OLED display, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.. The Sony Xperia 5 II should also support 5G connectivity as standard, although if history is any indication, actually using the device on Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile’s fastest networks might prove tricky.Sony is among the very few manufacturers to still offer a dedicated shutter button on its smartphones.
