The Google Pixel 4a was released in August 2020 after a delay of several months – originally expected to arrive sometime in April or May of the same year. The Pixel 4a only has 4G connectivity and a smaller 5.8-inch display, and the mid-range Snapdragon 730G chipset gives it excellent battery life. The $350 Pixel was an amazing value at the time.

The Pixel 4a is the last Google Pixel to launch in more markets. Starting with the 5G Pixels (4a 5G and 5), Google has severely limited their release in key markets like the US and Japan. Global component shortages and supply chain constraints make it harder for Google to produce and sell enough Pixels.

The Google Pixel 5a 5G is Google’s cheapest Pixel product right now. It retails for $449, and if you buy it in the US with a Google Fi plan, you can get it for as low as $299. Regardless, Google is expected to unveil its foldable device sometime this year, but we’re also expecting to see (and have already witnessed a few leaks) the Pixel 6a appear sometime this year. Given the timing of the release of its first two A-series Pixels, we might expect such a Pixel to arrive in August, although rumors point to a May release – we wonder if Google plans to release it to more markets.
