Reliance-backed Jio may be best known for its Indian cellular network and affordable subsidized equipment. More recently, JioPone Next and the upcoming JioPhone 5G. Jio laptops have also been popping up in the rumor mill for some time now. This was also mentioned in the hardware certification document recently. Unfortunately, the document doesn’t reveal any device specs, except that it’s apparently ARM-based, not x86, and certified to run an ARM version of Windows 10.

The document also mentions “Emdoor Digital Technology Co., Ltd.” – OEM of the relevant laptop. It’s a Shenzhen-based company that specializes in this type of hardware.Since we knew the “product name” of the device would be “QL218_V2.2_JIO_11.6_20220113_v2”, we did some snooping and found a huge “218 series” equipment lineup On the Emdoor Digital Technologies website. However, all of them use Intel or AMD x86 CPUs, not ARM chips. Their designs also look quite different, so we can’t say which case Jio will use. Emdoor Digital Technology is apparently custom-made for Jio.
